Cutting Edge Assistive Technology to Enhance Independence
Children and adults with complex neuromuscular disorders such as Duchenne muscular dystrophy depend on others for controlling their environment, their mobility and most daily living activities. There are new technologies available that can allow them greater independence with their own care and managing their surroundings. Lisa Rotelli is one of the foremost specialists in this field and will demonstrate the capabilities of wheelchair electronics and access to technology. We will learn about access to phones, games and environmental controls through the drive controls of a Powerchair.
