Blingo to CureDuchenne Raised $175,000 for Muscular Dystrophy Research

CureDuchenne, a nonprofit that raises awareness and funds research to find a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, held its inaugural Blingo to CureDuchenne event on May 3 at the Hyatt Regency in Philadelphia. Nearly 300 people, including PhiladelphiaÌ¢‰â‰ã¢s top business and community leaders, enjoyed an elegant evening of bingo and bling with celebrity guests while raising more than $175,000 to support the most promising research projects aimed at treating and curing Duchenne.

More than 250 guests attended the gala that celebrated CureDuchenneÌ¢‰â‰ã¢s 10 years of successfully advancing Duchenne research. The event raised more than $360,000 that will fund promising Duchenne research.

Proceeds of this event will fund promising research to find a cure for Duchenne, a progressive muscle-wasting disease that impacts 1 in 3,500 boys.

At the event, CureDuchenne will honor a nationally recognized former tax attorney and business executive, Doug Freeman, who played an integral role in establishing CureDuchenneÌ¢‰â‰ã¢s successful venture philanthropy model.

Rocket Ismail and Other Dallas Sports Celebrities Join Together for the Second Annual Bowling to CureDuchenne to Help Fund Research to Find a Cure for Duchenne

Rocket Ismail, former Dallas Cowboys receiver, will host the second annual Bowling to CureDuchenne event on February 16, 2014 to benefit CureDuchenne, a nonprofit that raises awareness and funds research to find a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Ismail will be joined by former Dallas Cowboys Tony Dorsett, Preston Pearson, Kevin Brooks, Larry Brown, Charles Haley, Drew Pearson, Everson Walls and former Texas Rangers Jose Guzman and Don Stanhouse as well as other sports celebrities at the fundraiser at Bowlmor Lanes in Addison, Texas.
