Seat elevation systems on power chairs can increase independence and improve the quality of life for individuals living with Duchenne. However, they can be very costly and are often denied by insurance companies.

If you have a quote for a new Quantum power chair, with a Quantum iLevel® Seat Elevation Technology system or Safe Seat Elevation system that was denied coverage by insurance, you may qualify for assistance through CureDuchenne’s program with Quantum Rehab. 

Grant applications for the seat elevator portion of a new Quantum powerchair must meet the following criteria:  

  • Must have a QUOTE for a NEW Quantum power chair that includes a Quantum iLevel® Seat Elevation Technology system or Safe Seat Elevation system and the seat elevation portion was rejected by insurance
  • A valid email address and phone number must be provided 
  • Application MUST be completed by the person living with Duchenne OR Becker muscular dystrophy OR their legal guardian 
  • Applicant MUST reside in the United States 
  • Other avenues for financial assistance MUST be exhausted:  
    • Equipment is not covered by insurance  
    • Equipment was denied by insurance through an appeals process by primary and secondary insurance company (if applicable)   
    • Equipment is not available through a local loan closet 

      NOTE: If the order for your power chair has already been placed, your seat elevation request is unable to be approved.
